The flowers will be from Maitland Mountain Farm in Salem, MA and will come in a sturdy mason jar with a little string tied around the mouth. You may opt to bring your own container, and transfer your flowers at the depot, to put your flowers in a plastic bag with a touch of water in the bottom, then use the accompanying string to tie the bag around the stems for transport home, or you can bring the bouquet and jar home and bring the jar back next week. The cost of the flower share is figured assuming the return of the jar.
How to keep blooms fresh:
Use a scrupulously clean vase (or the jar the flowers arrive in), change water daily, put a fresh cut on stems as needed, and as blooms fade towards the end of the week, cull them and rearrange into a smaller bouquet. Some flowers will fade before the week, others will live on even as you collect a new bouquet.
There may be add-on flowers available each week until the flower share opens, and possibly after, well into September. The bouquets are more expensive when purchased separately from the share.
