Order an essential cookbook, and local goods to help your garden grow!
Need to know what to do with all your tasty veggies? We’ve found From Asparagus to Zucchini: A Guide to Cooking Farm-Fresh, Seasonal Produce, a cookbook put together by the Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition, to be an indispensable resource. Organized by vegetable, with a history of each, tips for cooking and storage, as well as recipes, the cookbook is straightforward and very easy to use. We are selling this to members for $16 — a discount of 25 percent from the cover price.
FDC is also taking orders for two products to nourish your garden: Neptune’s Harvest Organic Fertilizer, made in Gloucester from fresh North Atlantic fish; and compost from Brick Ends Farm, made from local organic waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Brick Ends Farm works with two local nonprofits, Kidz b Kidz and Bass River, to create, bag, and sell the product to support their worthy causes.
Quarts of Neptune’s Harvest are $14.50 (retail $15.99) and gallons are $34.50 (retail $38.99). Five-gallon pails are also available. Brick Ends compost is $5.50 for 20-pound bag (retail $7).
The deadline for ordering all products is Thursday, June 23rd. Orders will be delivered to your depot the following week and added to your invoice. Click here to place your order.
