Hi! I’m Sena and new to Farm Direct Coop. I love to cook; I troll through a variety of cooking magazines/books; and my mom is a chef. I’ve volunteered to post some recipes, so here we go! If you are looking for something in particular, let me know and I’ll try my best to find it.
Here’s a very simple and delicious recipe from the October 2000 issue of Gourmet (adieu great food magazine!).
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 3 Tbl unsalted butter
- 3/4 lb baby bok choy, trimmed
- 1/2 tsp Asian sesame oil (I used toasted sesame oil)
- Salt
- Bring broth and butter to a simmer in a deep large heavy skillet.
- Arrange bok choy evenly in skillet and simmer, covered, until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer bok choy with tongs to a serving dish and keep warm, covered.
- Boil broth mixture until reduced to about 1/4 cup, then stir in sesame oil, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Pour mixture over bok choy.
Let me know what you think!
Thanks for posting. I made this recipe tonight with a full head of bok choy, some garlic scapes, 1 c vegetable broth and a dash of Sriracha hot chili sauce for some spice.
